Mother's Day All Month Long with Hilton Short Hills, DiMODOLO Getaway

SHORT HILLS, NJ -- Apr 10, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- For all she does throughout the year, it seems that Mom should get more than just one day dedicated to her. This May, lucky moms in the New York metro area get a full month of indulgence at Hilton Short Hills, where every Friday, Saturday or Sunday night they can pamper themselves with luxury, relaxation, shopping fun and an exclusive gift from the upscale DiMODOLO jewelry store in the adjacent Mall at Short Hills. Moms who spend the rest of the year taking care of everyone else first and themselves last, can spend a day and night indulging themselves for a change. The package is also a great way for spouses and kids to show Mom they appreciate her by giving her some time for herself. The Mother’s Day Get-Away includes overnight accommodations in one of the Hilton’s lavishly appointed guest rooms, a hand-drawn bath with exclusive June Jacobs amenities, a DiMODOLO tote and gift from the nearby Mall at Short Hills, and $200 that can be used in any of the urban resort’s dining venues or world-class Spa at Short Hills.

Questions linger on Hershey, Cadbury

Analysts raised the issue Thursday at Hershey's first-quarter earnings conference call, prompted in part by a "Heard on the Street" column in The Wall Street Journal that laid out a case that Hershey might not want to let this opportunity pass by.

Richard H. Lenny, Hershey's chairman, president and CEO, deflected the questions, as everyone expected him to do. But the issue remains up in the air and won't go away until one party or another actually makes a move.

Malls try teen curfews to draw shoppers

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. - Chaz Brewer visits the upscale St. Louis Galleria mall about once a week, checking out clothing stores like Aeropostale and American Eagle and hanging out in the food court.

Brewer, 16, doesn‘t plan on cruising the mall on a Friday night with his Mom.

Teenagers across the nation are facing similar dilemmas. Malls looking to restore what they call a family-friendly environment are putting policies into place requiring that younger teens have adult supervision during certain hours, almost always on the weekend.

At least 40 malls out of 1,100 in the United States have put teen curfew and escort policies into effect. The majority of those policies have started since 2004, according to data collected by the International Council of Shopping Centers, a New York-based shopping center trade organization.

NavDog - Maps Your Events

Navdog is a clever social mapping application that enables users to search and locate events and other local happenings. Users are requested to setup a simple profile and login sequence and setup their "home" location. Once created, the user then simply logs in and local events are presented. Browse events, register as a member, create a list of saved events, add and create your personal event listings.

For example, once my homebase was setup in Fort Collins, CO, I then saw a number of local event listings like concerts, festivals and other cool things. For advertisers, Featured Listings are presented in a very visible manner and eye-catching graphics and logos are also displayed in a floating window... in my case I was presented with details of The Taste of Vail Festival and a non-intrusive Starbucks logo was also presented to me.

RIGHT THIS WAY TO THE GUILLOTINE, LORD BLACK

NEW YORK - I've been reading the fascinating, six-volume, memoirs of France's hereditary executioners, the Sansons, published in Paris in 1862. The Sansons beheaded France's most famous condemned personalities, including Louis XVI, Danton, and Robiespierre. Public torture, known as `suplices,' and executions by sword, ax, and later the more humane guillotine, were a favored entertainment for the Paris mob. These macabre memoirs make a perfect reading companion to the current legal and media torment of Conrad and Barbara Black. Since foreign affairs and politics are more normal beat, I hadn't planned to write about Black's Chicago trial. But US prosecutors' lurid accusations, the deluge of spiteful slander poured on the Blacks by the envious Madame Defarges of the media, and the whole ghastly spectacle impelled me to speak up.
