Abbyson Corporation Introduces "The Power Of Home" Retail Concept ...

The Power of Home, an alliance with multinational shopping mall powerhouse The Westfield Corporation, is a completely new vision in home furnishings created with the consumer in mind. The Power of Home boasts the slogan Your vision, Your design, Your home, and its flagship store is projected to open in the completely remodeled Westfield Topanga Canyon mall in May 2007.

The Power of Home will join newcomers Michael Kors, Coach, Burberry, and a brand new Neiman Marcus to be part of Westfield Topangas landmark renovation project estimated at $620 million in total projected sales and 1.6MM square feet.

The concept of The Power of Home is simple: to provide a wide variety of products to the consumer at middle to upper level prices, but this includes a twist. The Power of Home will feature a fully experienced design team as staff, as well as a completely unique touch-screen Design Center for customers convenience.

Dig Into Data Mining

Some stores, especially online retailers, don't have to ask. They already have the answers they're looking for, helping them sell more products. They know what you buy, in what amount, at what price, how you pay, and when you are most likely to come back to restock your supplies.

Moreover, they know who you are, the best ways to deliver advertising to you, and they know what else you are likely to buy at the same time you buy toilet paper or deodorant.

While the specific examples above may not cause envy among law enforcement, the fact that retailers have better analytical capacities than most law enforcement agencies should.

This fact frustrates Colleen "Kelly" McCue, a senior research scientist at RTI International, a non-profit research institute.

In Falls Church, a Little City With a Big Boom

STEP INSIDE the white-pewed hush of The Falls Church, a 1769 red brick building just inside the Beltway in Virginia, and it's easy to imagine this place's storied past. Volunteers signed up to fight in the American Revolution here. Injured Union soldiers slept within these walls when the church served as a Civil War hospital. Countless Virginians got married, baptized babies and had their funeral rites read within the Georgian edifice, pictured here.

But outside, the views from the church's bucolic graveyard suggest that the 21st century (and development) has finally zoomed into Falls Church City, the once-sleepy town that surrounds the church. A mammoth steel crane, now a common sight in these parts, marks the construction site where the 230-unit, six-story Pearson Square condo development is taking shape.
