Picture of a young legend in Wilton; jazz icon, former Wiltonian jams

WILTON — Like many kids his age, John Scofield picked up a guitar because it was the cool thing to do. It was 1963, and the Beatles were popular. BOLINGBROOK -- A thousand trees, a dozen bronze butterflies and stained glass windows are a few of the details that architects put into The Promenade Bolingbrook to create a sense of place.

The shopping center that opens April 26 is designed to be part shopping mecca and part community gathering place.

At 1.1 million square feet with 100 stores and restaurants, Promenade Bolingbrook won't be small.
