| Pyramid Cos. May Sell Most Malls Outside Syracuse
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A major Syracuse developer is considering selling off most of its shopping centers. The Pyramid Companies is the largest privately held developer of malls in the country. The company owns 20 malls throughout New York and Massachusetts. The more notable properties include Crossgates Mall in Albany, Palisades Center just north of New York City, the Walden Galleria in Buffalo, and the Carousel Center here in Syracuse. The Carousel Center is the only enclosed mall the Pyramid Companies won't consider selling. The parking lot is one of the signs that Destiny USA, the mall expansion project, is coming. Pyramid's founder, Bob Congel, is committed to the mall and the project. He has been putting all his effort into this massive project. That includes meeting with his Destiny USA team every day at 6am.
